Detailed Policy Breakdown

The Standard Leave (Up to 25%)

Students are permitted to avail leave under unavoidable circumstances. However, the total leave of absence shall not exceed 25% of the academic contact hours for a course. You must maintain exactly 75% or higher to register for the end-semester examination without any special permissions.

Medical Condonation (Down to 60%)

If you fall severely ill, the college Principal has the authority to relax the minimum attendance requirement down to 60%. The Principal will keep all medical records on file for verification by Academic Auditors or University officials.

The "Two Semester" Limit

Crucial Warning: The 60% medical relaxation is NOT an unlimited free pass. According to KTU B.Tech regulations, this provision is applicable to only two semesters during your entire 4-year program period. If you require a medical exemption for a third time, you may have to repeat the course.
